“ENCOUNTER.” Combat History of U.S.S. Tinosa. By Allen E. Watrous. The Tinosa (SS-283) was commissioned in 1942, and survived World War II, sinking 16 Japanese ships at just over 64,000 tons. The author, editor, publisher and book artist all served aboard Tinosa during WWII. This book was self-published in 1988 by Paul W. Wittmer and quickly went out-of-print. This is a first edition Hardback with dust jacket, jacket is wrapped in clear protective plastic. 309 pages and many illustrations, but no-photos, includes appendix and glossary. Book is autographed by Tinosa crewman, Watrous.
